Opera Pop

Let’s rewind a little to last month and my quick trip to Verona. As was rather obvious in my last post, I was there with Italian lingerie brand, Intimissimi. The trip wasn’t for fashion week, happening a couple of hours away in Milano, but instead for a very special show being put on by the brand. Titled “Opera Pop on Ice“, I kind of had no idea what I was in for when accepting, but it turned out to be literally that – opera and pop on ice.

Held in the Arena di Verona, a Roman amphitheatre built in the 1st century (I was totally geeking out as we walked in!), the show began with a chirpy Pharrell Williams singing about just how happy he was, followed by a total spectacle of colour, light and lacy costumes as olympic figure skaters swooshed across the iced-over stage to opera and pop classics. I’ve never been to the opera, which was probably evident as I didn’t really have much of an idea of what was going on, but was totally taken aback by the spectacular show. I filmed a vlog whilst I was there, which I’m working to share with you as soon as my YouTube channel goes live, so you’ll be able to see just what I’m talking about!

I was a little hesitant about posting these snaps of my outfit for the evening on the blog – I think it’s that I don’t feel very “me”! It’s very rare you’ll find me in anything remotely figure hugging, especially with cleavage on show, but I thought as I was heading to an event put on by a lingerie brand, I should embrace sexy for a change…or at least give it my best shot!
